Engineering Director (AI)

Location: Warsaw, Poland; remote or hybrid work model with a Warsaw hub.

What you will do

• Own engineering strategy and roadmap across Marketplace, Patient Engagement and Payments, connecting technical priorities to product outcomes and business metrics.
• Lead around 75 engineers through engineering managers, grow leaders, clarify ownership and strengthen the leadership bench.
• Partner with Product and Design to deliver AI-powered discovery, booking, patient engagement, continuity-of-care and payment experiences.
• Set standards for AI-assisted coding, testing and review, including evaluation of AI output and protection of quality, security and privacy.
• Guide architecture and engineering standards across markets while balancing delivery speed, reliability, security, privacy and scale.
• Align with engineering peers and executives on shared platforms, technology decisions, priorities, delivery metrics and removal of recurring engineering bottlenecks.

Requirements

• Experience leading multi-team engineering organisations through managers, including growing leaders and delivering through organisational change.
• Daily, practical fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or Copilot, with sound judgment about their strengths, limits and risks.
• A product mindset that connects engineering strategy to customer outcomes, business results and product usage.
• Technical depth across architecture, delivery, reliability and security, with comfort working at implementation detail.
• Strong partnership skills with Product, Design, Data and business leaders, including calm communication with executives and in ambiguous situations.
• Experience with marketplaces and complex, high-stakes products where reliability, privacy and security are critical.
• Deep machine-learning expertise is not required, but experience changing how engineering teams work with AI is required.
