Technical Lead - AI Platform & Generative AI Lab (AI)

Location: Kraków, Poland. Hybrid model: 3 days per week in the office; 2 office days for a parent of a child up to 4 years old.

What you will do

• Drive architectural decisions and technical direction for AI Platform services and the engineering team.
• Lead an AI Lab Agile team from experimentation and proofs of concept to production-ready, enterprise-grade solutions.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and onboard high-value AI use cases.
• Define engineering standards, architecture principles, reusable patterns, shared services, and platform capabilities for enterprise AI adoption.
• Mentor and coach engineers, conduct architecture and code reviews, and promote technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Lead technical investigations, root cause analysis, performance tuning, production issue resolution, technology evaluations, and AI strategy advice.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including experience as a Technical Lead or Engineering Lead.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex technology initiatives.
• Experience driving technical architecture implementation, scalable software solutions, architecture principles, technology standards, and technical roadmaps.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and modern backend development, including profiling and debugging memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, concurrency issues, and high CPU utilization.
• Experience processing and transforming large datasets efficiently, with focus on performance, scalability, and resource optimization.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous Python programming, including asyncio, multiprocessing, and concurrent execution patterns.
• Experience designing and developing scalable APIs and distributed systems, plus solid understanding of cloud-native architectures and modern platform engineering.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing strategies, CI/CD, code reviews, and clean code principles.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, influencing technical direction, and collaborating across teams and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience managing production-critical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• TOGAF certification or equivalent architecture experience.
