Teaching Assistant: Data Center Technician

Location: Remote; preference for candidates willing to provide support in the Eastern Time zone.

What you will do

• Support approximately 50 learners in virtual Data Center Technician training through synchronous and asynchronous assistance.
• Monitor Pumble channels, answer learner questions, check in after live sessions, and foster discussions with questions and relevant resources.
• Facilitate breakout rooms and help keep lectures progressing when the Lead Instructor experiences technical difficulties or cannot deliver the lecture.
• Review labs, projects, extended cases, and other materials before lectures; hold up to six individual office hours per week through Zoom or Google Meet.
• Grade learner assignments within seven days and submit weekly write-ups covering accomplishments, challenges, and learner insights.
• Attend weekly staff meetings, mandatory onboarding, and scheduled meetings with camera on and active engagement.

Requirements

• Experience working in physical data centers or similar environments.
• Experience mentoring or supervising if there is no prior teaching experience.
• Desire to support students upskilling their careers into data roles.
• Empathy, flexibility, patience, and passion for supporting diverse learners who are new to the content.
• Fluent English with professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage and support adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong interest in helping learners transition into data center operations and infrastructure careers.

Nice to have

• A+ or Network+ certification.
