Medior Data Pipeline Engineer (AI)

Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid working model with 3 days on-site and 2 days working from home each week. Once every two weeks, adjusted hours are aligned with the New York time zone.

What you will do

• Manage and migrate ETL pipelines between various source systems.
• Validate pipeline build success and output data quality.
• Communicate with business stakeholders and subject-matter experts about their data domains.
• Analyze and resolve ETL pipeline blockers and data discrepancies.
• Support data migration activities across systems and platforms.
• Provide operational support in Snowflake, document work, and track handovers while maintaining team best practices.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in data, ETL, data migration, or a similar role.
• 2–3 years of hands-on SQL experience.
• At least 1–2 years of Python experience.
• Proven experience with Pandas and/or PySpark.
• Hands-on experience with current AI chat and coding tools.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, continuous-improvement focus, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and switch effectively between tasks.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, Dataiku, Impala, or DB2.
• Experience in a multinational company.
• Experience with modern data engineering technologies such as dbt, Airflow, Databricks, or other relevant tools.
