Member of Technical Staff, Protocols (Blockchain)

Location: United States; remote work with mandatory in-person onboarding for all new hires.

What you will do

• Research new cryptoassets and integrate them into the platform.
• Implement client-facing participation features such as staking, governance, and vesting.
• Develop scalable infrastructure for interactions across multiple blockchain networks.
• Support assets through network upgrades and monitor network-wide issues.
• Contribute to and review code across the engineering organization while maintaining code quality and deterministic testing.
• Influence architecture and product roadmaps, collaborate cross-functionally, and help scale the team.

Requirements

• Real-world experience building complex distributed systems.
• Strong engineering skills; the primary backend language is Go, but experience with a specific language or framework is not required.
• Experience building services from scratch and supporting them over a meaningful period of time.
• Commitment to code quality and test infrastructure.
• Understanding of computer science fundamentals, including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures; a formal computer science degree is not required.
• Ability to prioritize end-user experience and business value over technology for its own sake.
• Personal qualities including creativity, humility, ambition, attention to detail, diligence, trustworthiness, eagerness to learn, methodical execution, action orientation, and tenacity.

Nice to have

• Experience with applied cryptography.
• Comfort diving into lower-level systems and open-source projects to identify the root cause of bugs.
• Interest in cryptography, blockchain protocol white papers, and emerging cryptoasset innovations.
• Background in the finance industry.
