Senior Software Engineer (Payments)

What you will do

• Build and scale systems and services that support millions of users trading billions of dollars in assets.
• Build and maintain a modern global payments and treasury platform.
• Design and implement highly scalable, event-driven systems and services.
• Develop resilient infrastructure with strong technical and operational scalability and system integrity.
• Design solutions independently, contribute to defining goals, and collaborate with engineering and payments stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience working on systems at scale.
• Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a preference for simple and elegant solutions.
• Proven experience building and maintaining microservices and client-facing APIs.
• Strong coding skills, preferably in Go, and the ability to write clean, well-tested, maintainable code.
• Experience with domain-driven design, event-driven design, distributed systems design, messaging queues, and message brokers.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, especially Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Previous experience with or understanding of payment rails and the payment lifecycle, plus experience with double-entry accounting and financial ledgers.
• Ability to debug issues and proactively identify and prevent problems.

Nice to have

• Previous financial industry experience or knowledge of payment initiations.
• Experience with financial reconciliation systems.
• Experience with or understanding of the ISO 20022 financial standard.
• Experience working remotely.
• Experience at a startup, exchange, brokerage, market maker, or hedge fund.
