Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, Leeds, UK; at least two days per week at the Leeds office.

Salary: £63,152–£78,940 per year.

What you will do

• Build and enhance a brand-new digital stockbroking platform for direct-to-consumer investments.
• Design and implement streamlined, customer- and colleague-focused platform features.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver functionality.
• Develop high-quality, resilient, secure, and testable software.
• Promote engineering best practices and take ownership of professional development.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and supporting dynamic, data-driven front ends with React and TypeScript.
• Experience with front-end design patterns and developing high-quality, testable, reusable, and modular code.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Jest, Playwright, Java Spring Boot or Quarkus, and Kafka.
• Experience with Git, source code management, and managing concurrent changes in a large codebase.
• Experience with automation and CI/CD across the software development lifecycle using Harness.
• Experience with large-scale applications where high performance and low latency are essential.
• Experience with distributed systems, asynchronous programming, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience developing cloud-native solutions with GCP and integrating SaaS solutions through RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as GCP.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering software solutions in financial services, particularly trading, investments, or wealth.
• Experience delivering large-scale data migrations involving 500,000 or more customers.
• Certifications in the relevant technologies.
