Senior Backend Engineer (Django)

Location: Paris, France (hybrid); relocation support is available for roles based in France.

Salary: €95,000–€105,000 per year plus stock options/BSPCE.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, delivery, and ongoing development of the pricing system used across iOS, Android, Web, and API products.
• Build and deliver Product Growth initiatives while collaborating with product owners and frontend and backend engineers.
• Develop features end to end, from architecture and coding through release monitoring and performance analysis with Datadog.
• Use product usage feedback to iterate quickly as the backend is updated multiple times per week.
• Optimize existing endpoints, reduce latency, and support continued scale for growing usage.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
• Experience working with relational databases at scale, including schema design, Django query optimization, and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Hands-on experience with a PostgreSQL or MySQL database larger than 100 GB.
• Experience scaling SaaS products and managing subscriptions with Stripe and RevenueCat.
• Experience designing endpoints directly with frontend engineers and delivering OpenAPI specifications and developer manuals or supporting documentation.
• A pragmatic approach that favors fast iteration and the use of frameworks and libraries instead of reinventing the wheel.
• Strong ownership, initiative, and comfort making product and technical decisions.
• Fluent English; French is not required.

Hiring process

• 30-minute screening call with a Talent Manager.
