Architect, IT Data Architecture

Location: Hybrid role based in Deerfield, Illinois, with a required minimum number of onsite days per week. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Estimated base salary: $128,000–$176,000 annually, plus eligibility for discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Design and implement secure, scalable data pipelines, APIs, endpoints, and RESTful services for enterprise data access.
• Develop and enhance capabilities of the Mosaic internal platform using Python, SQL, Neo4j, Unix, and modern software development practices.
• Design and implement microservices and architectural solutions that improve scalability, reliability, performance, portability, deployment, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Incorporate data privacy, security, and governance requirements into application and architecture decisions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, AI tools, and machine learning capabilities to support platform innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in endpoint development, data engineering, software engineering, or architecture, including enterprise-scale applications and services.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or a comparable cloud computing environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, Flask, gUnicorn, SQL, Neo4j, Unix/Linux, and RESTful API development.
• Experience with Docker, Redis, microservices, architectural patterns, and distributed application development.
• Strong understanding of data privacy, security, governance principles, and modern application architecture.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing priorities.
• Authorization to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript, Node.js, UI/UX development, or equivalent technologies.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field with 12+ years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of experience.
• Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling.
• AWS certification and architecture-related certifications.
