Business Data Architect (Finance)

Location: Newark, NJ; hybrid work with two days per week in the Newark office and remote work the rest of the time.

Salary: USD 150,000–180,000 annually; bonus eligible.

What you will do

• Design, architect, implement, and maintain complex conceptual, logical, and physical data models for finance business use cases and reporting.
• Translate stakeholder requirements and large data initiatives into technical designs, business data products, integrations, and trusted reporting solutions.
• Work with finance stakeholders, product owners, business units, data governance, technology, and data engineering teams to deliver business priorities.
• Support the data platform as a product, manage data operations, and ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, documentation, and metadata quality.
• Assess data flows, duplication, risks, and gaps; develop target-state roadmaps and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support project and program managers, facilitate meetings and presentations, resolve database performance issues, and communicate progress and findings.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of data architecture and implementation, SQL, and data modeling concepts.
• Ability to create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processing using Snowflake, AWS S3, AWS Glue, or similar technologies.
• Experience tuning and optimizing database queries.
• Experience working on medium-scale projects and handling day-to-day operational requests from the business.
• Strong knowledge and experience in data governance concepts and implementation.
• Ability to foster strong relationships and communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
