Senior Software Engineer (AI/LLM)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate AI systems for document-processing products in collaboration with engineers, product managers, and customers.
• Develop ingestion, parsing, extraction, indexing, retrieval, and evaluation pipelines for enterprise documents and messages.
• Take features from concept through production, measure outcomes, and improve them when results are insufficient.
• Solve concurrency, latency, and distributed-systems problems for high-volume workloads across cloud and customer environments.
• Build for multi-cloud, on-premises, and air-gapped environments with strict security and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to engineering culture through mentoring, code reviews, hiring, and architectural discussions; use and evaluate coding agents responsibly.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building and operating large-scale commercial services used by real customers.
• Strong programming ability and readiness to work across languages; the environment includes Python, Rust, and C#.
• Production experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP and containerized deployment on Kubernetes, including shipping, monitoring, and scaling systems.
• Experience working with data at scale, including SQL and trade-offs between storage and search systems.
• Experience with coding agents and a considered approach to their responsible use, evaluation, and quality management.
• Understanding of type systems, testing, and designs that prevent invalid states.
• Practical knowledge of computer science fundamentals and data structures.
• Ability to assess and defend opinions about code quality and architecture.
• Builder and problem-solver mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping LLM-backed products to production, including prompting and evaluation.
• Familiarity with document processing, OCR, layout analysis, and real-world document variability.
