Senior Integration Engineer (MuleSoft)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; based at the hirify.global location with 4 days per week in the office, regular in-person meetings and events, and occasional travel.

Base salary: $140,000–$170,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing electrified and digitally enabled pickup trucks and rugged SUVs, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support the enterprise integration platform using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and SAP BTP Integration Suite.
• Build APIs and integrations connecting enterprise applications, SAP systems, SaaS platforms, cloud services, and messaging or event technologies.
• Develop reusable MuleSoft applications, APIs, integration components, templates, and patterns using Mule 4, DataWeave, Anypoint Studio, and API Manager.
• Implement error handling, logging, retries, exception management, security, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, perform unit and integration testing, troubleshoot production issues, and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with application, SAP, security, DevOps, and business teams; participate in design and code reviews; and mentor less-experienced developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise integrations and APIs.
• Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Mule 4, DataWeave, Anypoint Studio, and API Manager.
• Experience designing REST and SOAP APIs and working with RAML and OpenAPI specifications.
• Understanding of API-led connectivity, API lifecycle management, reusable API design, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with synchronous and asynchronous integrations, messaging, event-driven integrations, routing, transformation, and file-based integrations.
• Experience with JSON, XML, XSD, CSV, and SQL; CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control, and DevOps practices.
• Working knowledge of OAuth 2.0, certificates, JWT, TLS/mTLS, secrets management, logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, production support, performance optimization, reliability, and maintainability.
• Experience with AWS or Azure, strong problem-solving skills, effective communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to provide technical guidance while remaining hands-on.
• Ability and willingness to learn additional integration platforms and technologies as the enterprise ecosystem evolves.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite, or willingness and ability to develop deeper expertise with SAP BTP.
• Experience with Kinesis, Kafka, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies.
• Experience integrating with SAP S/4HANA or other SAP applications.
