Industrial Engineer (Mid-level or Senior) (Aerospace)

Location: Wichita, Kansas, United States; onsite, union-represented position.

Salary: $85,600–$131,200 for Mid-level (Level 3); $105,400–$161,600 for Senior (Level 4).

What you will do

• Analyze and design production workflows, operation sequences, facility layouts, and product flow to improve efficiency and utilization.
• Develop and implement optimized product flow based on cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record studies.
• Develop time standards and standard work for shop-floor operations and processes.
• Perform capacity analysis, tool and equipment utilization analysis, and line balancing.
• Conduct trend analysis of shop performance measures and identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with facilities planning and design, accident prevention measures, and production-operations training programs as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least 5 years of industrial engineering experience.
• Knowledge of industrial engineering tools used in production, including capacity analysis, theory of constraints, waste elimination, and production improvements.
• Experience leading projects and project teams with a continuous-improvement focus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate across all levels of leadership.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Nice to have

• For Senior (Level 4): 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Project management experience.
