What you will do

• Provide expert advice on German, European, and international patent and design law.
• Identify and evaluate inventions with inventors and prepare German and European patent applications.
• Support patent drafting, prosecution, and portfolio management across multiple jurisdictions.
• Evaluate third-party intellectual property rights for freedom-to-operate assessments, clearance strategies, and competitive positioning.
• Advise on patentability, validity, and infringement matters and act as an internal expert on IP risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Legal, Procurement, external patent attorneys, and lawyers.

Requirements

• Technical studies in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable field, with further education or experience in patents.
• Several years of professional experience in patent work, including drafting, prosecution, and freedom-to-operate assessments.
• Qualification as a European Patent Attorney is possible as part of the background.
• High self-motivation, autonomy, and reliability in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
• Strong analytical skills and an organized approach to complex matters.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with patent research tools and databases.
