Senior IP Engineer / Senior Patent Engineer (m/f/d)

What you will do

• Conduct prior art searches, freedom-to-operate analyses, and competitor IP assessments.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Design, Legal, and Product Management to integrate IP considerations into development processes.
• Work with inventors and R&D teams to identify risks at early stages of product development.
• Analyze technical solutions and identify patentable ideas.
• Help formulate and implement IP strategies aligned with business and innovation goals.
• Improve and streamline internal processes.

Requirements

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Several years of professional experience as a patent engineer or in a comparable position, including FTO analyses.
• Strong interest in intellectual property law, innovation processes, and technology strategy.
• Analytical and structured approach to complex technical and legal information.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with patent search tools such as Questel Orbit, Espacenet, or DEPATISnet.
