Senior Solution Architect (Mobile)

Location: Bristol or London, UK; hybrid working with at least two days per week or 40% of working time at an office site.

Salary: Bristol £92,701–£109,060 per year; London £107,304–£126,240 per year.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture for complex mobile initiatives across customer, business, and technology objectives.
• Create architecture roadmaps, solution designs, and technical options to support informed delivery decisions.
• Partner with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and Enterprise Architects to align priorities, dependencies, and delivery plans.
• Embed secure-by-design and resilient-by-design principles from discovery through live service.
• Identify and manage architectural risks, technical debt, and cross-platform dependencies while balancing short- and long-term platform needs.
• Drive adoption of common patterns, reusable capabilities, and engineering standards across mobile teams.

Requirements

• Significant experience designing and leading end-to-end solution architectures across applications, services, platforms, and operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of mobile architecture principles across Android and iOS, including integration with APIs, backend services, and shared platform capabilities.
• Experience shaping architectural roadmaps, evaluating options, and communicating technical trade-offs to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of security and resilience principles, including secure design, risk management, and operational readiness.
• Experience working in agile delivery environments and partnering with engineering, product, and architecture teams.
• Proven ability to influence decisions, build alignment, and provide technical leadership across complex, multidisciplinary environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in a regulated financial services environment or another large-scale, complex organisation.
• Experience with cloud technologies, microservices, observability, platform engineering, or service reliability practices.
• Experience contributing to architecture standards, reference patterns, technical communities, or engineering capability development.
