Engineering Manager (Kafka)

What you will do

• Build, lead, and grow a high-performing team responsible for mission-critical streaming infrastructure.
• Own team outcomes end to end, from roadmap development through production operations.
• Shape the streaming platform roadmap with teams across hirify.global so it scales ahead of product needs.
• Collaborate with technical leads and contribute hands-on by reviewing designs, shipping code, and joining the on-call rotation.
• Drive engineering excellence while balancing operational strength with a high shipping cadence.
• Communicate through cross-team RFCs, leadership briefs, and discussions with non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience and understanding of Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, GCP, and/or other streaming technologies.
• Prior experience managing a high-performing team responsible for data-intensive, mission-critical infrastructure.
• Experience hiring, growing, and shaping a high-performance engineering team.
• Technical depth to review designs, challenge trade-offs, and ship code alongside the team.
• Ability to use AI to accelerate and improve daily work.
• High standards for engineering quality and delivery.
