Engineering Manager (Cybersecurity)

Location: US, Remote

Base salary: $225,250–$265,000 annually; additional equity in the form of stock options.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers and security practitioners with deep EDR expertise, establishing clear career paths.
• Turn EDR workflows into buildable requirements and usable product capabilities.
• Partner with a staff-level technical lead on architecture, Product on roadmap sequencing, and engineering leaders across the organization.
• Translate ambiguous goals into sequenced deliverables, actively manage scope, and surface dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs.
• Stay technically engaged to challenge assumptions, evaluate designs, unblock the team, and maintain quality and safety under schedule pressure.
• Establish design review, release, on-call, and incident-response practices.

Requirements

• Familiarity with EDR or security operations sufficient to partner effectively with domain experts.
• Proven experience leading highly technical backend or platform engineering teams, ideally in a SaaS, cybersecurity, or cloud-scale environment.
• Experience delivering products under fixed deadlines with ambiguous requirements and actively managed scope.
• Strong dependency and stakeholder management across multiple engineering teams, including surfacing risks and tradeoffs early and in writing.
• Understanding of security and reliability best practices in multi-tenant SaaS.
• Experience partnering with a staff-level technical lead and distinguishing management responsibilities from technical ownership.
• Ability to maintain a quality or safety bar under schedule pressure and escalate scope tradeoffs.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with agentic or LLM-backed systems in production and how they fail.
• Background in security operations, detection engineering, or offensive security.
• Experience leading a platform team serving other internal engineering teams.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures or streaming platforms such as Kafka, Pulsar, Kinesis, or Flink.
