System Development Engineer (Workday)

Location: Newark, New Jersey, USA; onsite role

Base salary: $142,300–$192,400 annually, plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units.

hirify.global produces and provides audio storytelling and operates its Workday Finance platform within its FinTech organization.

What you will do

• Build and maintain real-time, event-driven, batch, API-based, and web-service Workday integrations using EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, and SOAP/REST services.
• Build Workday Orchestrations, Workday Extend applications, and Prism Analytics data sets and reports to automate finance processes and provide insights.
• Configure and support Workday Financials, including business processes, security groups, calculated fields, custom reports, and reports-as-a-service.
• Own Revenue and Resource Management flows across Expenses, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Projects, Assets, revenue, supplier payments, and connected financial systems.
• Support financial close, reconciliations, vendor tax and banking data synchronization, and compliance with financial controls and audit requirements.
• Manage feature releases and tenant changes, integration monitoring, runbooks, on-call support, testing, and root-cause fixes while partnering with Finance, Accounting, and HR stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or business.
• 5+ years of experience building or supporting Workday, ideally Workday Financials.
• Strong experience developing Workday integrations with EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, or Workday Web Services.
• Strong experience with XSLT 2.0 and 3.0, XML, and JSON transformations.
• Ability to build real-time Workday integrations using event-driven, web-service, and API-based approaches.
• Experience building Workday Orchestrations, Workday Extend applications, and Prism Analytics.
• Experience configuring Workday business processes, security, calculated fields, and custom reports.
• Basic understanding of Workday Revenue and Resource Management, including Expenses, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Projects, Assets, and financial close.
• Basic programming knowledge in at least one object-oriented language such as Java, Python, or C#, plus basic CI/CD knowledge covering source control and automated build and deployment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AWS services.
• Workday Integrations or Workday Financials certification.
• Experience with Workday HCM integrations.
• Experience in regulated or audited environments, including SOX and financial controls.
• Strong communication skills and experience working directly with non-technical business stakeholders.
