Program Manager IV (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite or hybrid based in Reno, Nevada; the posting header also lists Folsom, California. Travel up to 25%, including possible overnight travel within the continental U.S.

Base salary: $128,600–$245,900 USD.

What you will do

• Plan, direct, and monitor programs to maintain scope, schedules, budgets, and project-level profit and loss.
• Generate and review program management documentation, including status reports, program plans, CDRLs, presentations, and PDR/CDR materials.
• Coordinate engineering, production, manpower, facilities, and project staff to deliver program commitments.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve program risks and issues while ensuring adherence to internal program management processes.
• Serve as the primary customer contact, participate in customer meetings and technical reviews, and pursue follow-on and new business opportunities.
• Develop proposal inputs and brief customers and executives on program status, risks, and future plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree emphasizing Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• 15+ years of program management experience, including 10 years managing Department of Defense propulsion-related programs.
• Direct experience generating, managing, and owning Integrated Master Schedules, Integrated Master Plans, and Earned Value Management.
• Direct experience managing large subcontracts.
• Experience managing programs for U.S. Government customers.
• Ability to multitask in a highly collaborative environment, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and solve problems quickly and completely.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level and must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must hold a current DoD Secret Clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree emphasizing Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing rocket propulsion defense system programs.
• Experience managing Missile Defense Agency programs with MAP/PMAP requirements.
• Experience briefing executive management and customers on program status, risks, and future plans.
• Experience using Integrated Program Management Tools.
• Basic understanding of solid rocket motor design and operation.
