Program Manager III (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite or hybrid based in Reno, NV; travel up to 25%, including possible overnights within the continental U.S.

Base salary: $120,000–$190,000 USD annually, depending on experience, skills, and location.

What you will do

• Plan, direct, and monitor programs to control scope, schedule, budget, and project-level profit and loss.
• Develop and review program management documentation, including status reports, planning materials, CDRLs, PDR/CDR materials, and presentations.
• Coordinate engineering, production, facilities, manpower, and other resources required for program execution.
• Lead program deliverables, identify and escalate risks and issues, and ensure adherence to internal program management processes.
• Serve as the primary customer contact and participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving activities.
• Support follow-on proposals and brief program status, risks, and future plans to customers and management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
• 10+ years of program management experience, including 5 years managing DOD propulsion-related programs.
• Direct responsibility for generating, managing, and owning Integrated Master Schedules, Integrated Master Plans, and Earned Value Management.
• Direct experience managing large subcontracts.
• Experience managing programs for U.S. Government customers.
• Ability to multitask in a highly collaborative team environment and communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
• Proven ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level and must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable ITAR and EAR requirements and be eligible to obtain required export authorizations.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree with an emphasis in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
• Experience managing rocket propulsion defense system programs.
• Experience managing Missile Defense Agency programs with MAP/PMAP requirements.
• Experience briefing executive management and customers on program status, risks, and future plans.
• Experience using Integrated Program Management Tools.
• Basic understanding of solid rocket motor design and operation.
