MES Engineer III (Automotive Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Design, modify, test, deploy, and maintain C# and ASP.NET applications supporting automotive manufacturing systems.
• Create and manage SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
• Configure and maintain servers, virtual machines, workstations, and lineside IT equipment while monitoring system health with SNMP, What’s Up Gold, vRealize, and VNC.
• Analyze logs, debug source code, prepare incident reports, and resolve production-impacting issues as an escalation point for MES Technicians.
• Collaborate with production engineers, managers, network, security, infrastructure, and database teams to support manufacturing IT, quality data, robot communication, system configuration, and user needs.
• Maintain system availability through clustering, replication, backups, patching, and disaster recovery activities; train and support MES Technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 7+ years of hands-on development experience.
• Hands-on experience with C#, WinForms, ASP.NET, HTML5, AJAX, IIS, Windows Server, SQL, and Visual Studio.
• Experience building and maintaining web and desktop applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work in customer-facing roles, communicate effectively, and provide technical support.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with clear documentation and cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to plan and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Nice to have

• Hands-on system administration experience and experience working in MES or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with SCADA, Oracle, PL/SQL, PLC, Android, Linux, VMware, Active Directory, MES, and PGL.
• Understanding of industrial control systems and manufacturing IT infrastructure, including integration with production equipment and software platforms.
