Senior IT Specialist - Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

Location: Hybrid in-office position based in Marion, North Carolina, United States, with a required minimum number of onsite days per week.

Base salary: $112,000–$154,000 per year, plus eligibility for discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Design, develop, configure, maintain, and support MES applications and related software systems for manufacturing operations and compliance requirements.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues to maintain system performance, reliability, and product quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, manufacturing plants, and project management to deliver MES solutions, project plans, timelines, and milestones.
• Develop and enforce coding standards and best practices covering naming conventions, documentation, error handling, version control, and code reviews.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior developers and other team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of software development experience, including hands-on MES application experience preferred.
• Proficiency in C++, C#, and Java, with strong SQL and database skills; IBM DB2 or Oracle experience preferred.
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining MES platforms.
• Knowledge of agile and waterfall development methodologies, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including experience working in manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with POMS, POMSnet, Siemens Opcenter Execution Medical Device (Camstar), or Opcenter Pharma (XFP).
• Experience with cloud-based MES solutions, IoT technologies, or regulated environments such as FDA, ISO, or GMP.
• Spanish or Portuguese language skills.
