Risk Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Krakow, Poland; fully in-person, 5 days a week from the office.

What you will do

• Conduct manual, automatic, semi-automatic, and AI-powered reviews of business models and payment processing.
• Assess merchant exposure, calculate potential losses, and make merchant approval or rejection decisions.
• Decide on risk acceptance, account termination, rolling or fixed reserves, and payout restrictions.
• Assess compliance, fraud, and financial risks across merchant businesses and transactions.
• Monitor business models, transaction activity, and merchant behavior for volume spikes, refund anomalies, bust-out patterns, and chargeback risk.
• Configure compliance, fraud, and risk rules and perform complex investigations to minimize losses.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in compliance, risk evaluation, fraud detection, or underwriting.
• Knowledge of card scheme rules and the financial transaction lifecycle from authorization to chargeback.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to optimize individual and team workflows.
• Clear written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with AI tools for daily tasks.

Nice to have

• SQL skills.
• Enhanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, statistical packages, and macros.
