Senior Software Engineer | Platform Engineering

Location: Remote-first; candidates must reside in one of Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Cyprus, Malta, Finland, Sweden, Ireland, Moldova, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, or Ukraine. Travel to Vilnius is required for onboarding, with travel costs covered. Visa sponsorship and work permit support are not provided.

Salary: €6,500–€9,000 gross per month, depending on experience, plus separate compensation for on-call participation.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate CI/CD pipelines used by engineering teams to ship services.
• Build and maintain observability and monitoring tooling for production debugging.
• Develop local environments that reproduce production-like conditions on engineers’ laptops.
• Identify and remove infrastructure friction at its root for product teams.
• Debug complex issues across CI/CD, observability, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Contribute to the platform roadmap and backlog for internal engineering users.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean abstractions, maintainable code, and the ability to justify architecture decisions.
• Production experience with Go is strongly preferred; candidates without Go must demonstrate strong systems programming skills in a comparable language.
• Experience building and operating most, but not necessarily all, of CI/CD and GitOps systems, infrastructure as code, container orchestration, observability tooling, and cloud platforms.
• Relevant technologies include GitLab CI, Argo CD, Kargo, Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with AI coding agents and agentic development workflows.
• Personal ownership of a complex project from end to end.
• Strong debugging, optimization, and performance-tuning skills.
• Strong written and verbal English skills.
• Adaptability, proactivity, and comfort with ambiguity in a startup environment.
• Participation in on-call rotation for teams that require it.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes operators, Helm chart authoring, or admission webhooks.
• Internal developer platform design, including golden paths, self-service tooling, and service catalogs.
• Local development tooling such as devcontainers, Tilt, Skaffold, or similar.
• Kubernetes or cloud-native open-source contributions.
