R&D TPM/Product Development Specialist (Beauty)

Location: Shanghai, China; hybrid working model.

What you will do

• Lead cosmetics product development projects from concept to launch, ensuring timely execution and high standards of quality and consumer relevance.
• Convert turnkey and ready-to-go TPM formulas into products for brand launches and accelerate external innovations.
• Act as the primary technical interface with third-party manufacturers on formulation development, product performance, quality requirements, testing, and commercialization readiness.
• Define formula specifications, confirm compliance, complete raw material data, and collect formulas, raw material information, and test results for Product Information Files and registration.
• Coordinate internal and external testing for microbiology, safety, efficacy, and claim support, while tracking results and reporting project progress.
• Manage short-, medium-, and long-term category plans and collaborate with Brand Marketing, Procurement, Packaging, Initiative Leaders, Regulatory Support, and other R&D stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience, including at least 2 years in Procurement, Product Development, or Innovation within the beauty industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetics Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong project management skills and a proven record of successfully launching products.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for color beauty products.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced new product development environment.
• Experience working in international environments and matrix organizations.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and functions.
• Fluency in English at a near-native level.
