Device Physics Summer Intern (PhD)

Location: Normandale, United States; onsite at the R&D site in Bloomington, Minnesota

Base wage: $42.00–45.00/hour

Develops and manufactures recording heads and storage technologies through an R&D and manufacturing site in Minnesota.

What you will do

• Assess new reader technologies.
• Develop new models when necessary.
• Help enhance reader models.

Requirements

• Experience with micromagnetic modeling.
• Coding experience in Fortran and Python.
• Experience with parallel and distributed computing techniques.
• Basic knowledge of magnetic recording.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics and enrolled in Fall 2027 classes.
