Sr Mechanical Design Engineer (Hard Disk Drive Manufacturing)

Location: Korat, Thailand; onsite role. Travel: None.

hirify.global manufactures cloud-based storage equipment, storage components, and finished hard disk drives at its Korat facility.

What you will do

• Lead the design of jigs, fixtures, precision tooling, and automation equipment for manufacturing and assembly.
• Develop 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications in line with engineering standards.
• Own projects from concept through implementation, provide technical guidance, lead design reviews, and approve engineering deliverables.
• Perform FEA, tolerance stack-up, stress, thermal, vibration, and motion analyses; oversee prototype testing and validation.
• Collaborate with process engineers, production teams, and suppliers to improve yield, cycle time, equipment reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Research materials, precision mechanisms, and automation technologies; contribute to intellectual property and ensure compliance with standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience in mechanical design, including tooling, automation, or equipment design.
• Advanced proficiency with engineering design and simulation tools such as SolidWorks and ANSYS.
• Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), precision machining, automation, and assembly processes.
• Strong analytical skills with hands-on prototyping and testing experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Good English communication skills.
