Mechanical Design Engineer II (Manufacturing Equipment)

Location: Korat, Thailand; onsite role. Travel: None.

What you will do

• Design and improve jigs, fixtures, precision tooling, and automation equipment for hard disk drive manufacturing and assembly.
• Create and revise 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications according to engineering standards.
• Complete engineering projects with general guidance, review technical requirements, analyze design options, and participate in design reviews.
• Perform tolerance stack-up and basic stress, thermal, vibration, and motion analyses; support prototyping, testing, data collection, and validation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and continuous improvements.
• Work with process engineers, production teams, and suppliers to improve yield, cycle time, equipment reliability, cost, and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Professional experience in mechanical design, tooling, automation, equipment design, or a related engineering field.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and engineering design tools such as SolidWorks.
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of machine design, precision components, machining processes, and assembly methods.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently on assigned tasks, and effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Good English communication skills.
