Задачи четко очерчены и охватывают проекты критической инфраструктуры от оценки площадки до строительства, но требование постоянной работы в офисе расходится с пометкой о remote и ограничивает гибкость по локации.

TL;DR
Civil Engineer (Hydrology and Hydraulics) (Stormwater/Floodplain Infrastructure): Developing hydrology and hydraulic models, drainage systems, flood-protection criteria, and construction documentation for data center and energy infrastructure projects with an accent on HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS analysis, floodplain permitting, and critical-facility design. Focus on evaluating site constraints, integrating drainage with grading and utilities, supporting FEMA-related submittals, and resolving technical issues through construction.
Location: Remote, USA; ideally based in the San Francisco, Long Beach, or Houston offices, with full-time onsite expectations except for bi-weekly WFH Fridays. Exceptions may be considered for exceptional candidates outside these hubs.
Company
hirify.global develops data center and energy infrastructure projects.
What you will do
Evaluate prospective sites using survey, terrain, watershed, and floodplain information, identifying drainage constraints and impacts on development cost, schedule, and usable area.
Develop and review hydrology and hydraulic models using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, including 1D and 2D analysis where appropriate.
Design stormwater conveyance and detention systems, erosion protection, post-construction water-quality measures, and low-impact development BMPs where required.
Prepare erosion and sediment control plans, support SWPPP preparation and compliance, and develop drainage reports, calculations, specifications, exhibits, and Civil 3D plan sheets.
Establish flood-protection criteria for critical facilities and integrate drainage with grading, building pads, retaining walls, utilities, and access roads.
Coordinate permitting and technical reviews, support FEMA-related submittals, review consultant deliverables, resolve agency comments, and assist with RFIs, field observations, as-builts, certifications, and operation and maintenance plans.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
5+ years of relevant civil engineering experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience in hydrology, hydraulics, drainage design, or floodplain analysis.
Demonstrated proficiency in HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS, including model development, interpretation, and documentation, plus culvert and storm sewer analysis tools such as HY-8, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, StormCAD, or equivalent.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for grading, drainage layouts, profiles, and construction plan production.
Experience designing detention and conveyance systems and preparing drainage reports for agency review.
Working knowledge of FEMA floodplain information, local stormwater and floodplain development criteria, NOAA Atlas 14 rainfall data, and standard hydrologic methods including Rational, NRCS/TR-55, and unit hydrograph methods.
Ability to manage multiple project priorities, explain technical tradeoffs clearly, and coordinate effectively with design and construction teams.
Nice to have
Professional Engineer licensure, particularly in Texas or Oklahoma, or a clear path to obtaining licensure.
Experience with HEC-RAS 2D, ArcGIS or QGIS, and stormwater platforms such as SWMM or HydroCAD.
Master’s degree focused on water resources, hydrology, or hydraulic engineering.
Experience supporting no-rise certifications, CLOMR/LOMR applications, and floodway or floodplain crossing analyses.
Experience with USACE Section 404 crossings, construction stormwater permitting, or state dam safety review of large detention facilities.
Background in data centers, substations, industrial facilities, or other large sites with critical infrastructure.
Experience carrying designs from feasibility through construction and improving reusable models, templates, and design standards.
Culture & Benefits
Work closely with civil engineers, project development teams, construction managers, external consultants, permitting agencies, surveyors, geotechnical engineers, and environmental consultants.
Hybrid arrangement with full-time onsite work at a hub office and bi-weekly work-from-home Fridays.
Potential flexibility for exceptional candidates living outside the listed office hubs.
