Chief Operating Officer - Secondaries

Location: New York, NY; applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Salary: $300,000–$300,000 annually, plus discretionary bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Serve as the Secondaries interface with the Private Markets COO, technology, data, and support functions to maintain accurate, usable data across funds, portfolios, and investors.
• Drive implementation and alignment with the strategic target operating model.
• Develop a coordinated marketing capability and lead the creation, quality control, and delivery of investor content and communications.
• Coordinate fund financing and liquidity management, including leverage facilities, cash management for evergreen vehicles, and potential inter-fund sell-downs.
• Lead complex cross-functional initiatives involving evergreen funds, service providers, investor options, cost minimization, reporting, and investor communications.
• Provide leadership and oversight for selected investment professionals while managing business timelines, dependencies, reviews, reporting, and compensation-related deliverables.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years of relevant professional experience in private markets, secondaries, investment management, management consulting, or a closely related field.
• Experience in a COO, business management, strategy, or senior project management role supporting alternatives, private markets, investment banking, or a credit platform.
• Strong familiarity with private debt or private markets fund structures.
• Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives involving investment, legal, finance, operations, technology, and marketing stakeholders.
• Experience overseeing or closely partnering with marketing and investor relations, including shaping strategic messaging and improving processes and standards.
• Strong people leadership skills, including managing and influencing senior professionals and providing structure, feedback, and accountability without formal authority.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with data, reporting, and operational metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex issues and communicate with senior stakeholders and external partners.
• High judgment, discretion, maturity, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
