Quality Assurance Engineer (Cloud, UI & API Automation)

Location: Onsite in Cupertino, California, with 5 days per week in the office. U.S. citizenship is required. Meetings outside standard business hours are required at least 3 days per week.

Salary: USD 84,200–170,300 annual base salary in California.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and tools using Python.
• Create scalable automation for cloud, web UI, and REST API validation.
• Develop test infrastructure, automation pipelines, quality metrics, and test environments.
• Collaborate with software engineers to identify, reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
• Analyze system behavior, logs, and telemetry to diagnose complex issues and investigate customer-reported problems.
• Participate in feature reviews, document testing methodologies, and improve automation coverage, testing efficiency, and release quality.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience in software engineering, automation engineering, quality engineering, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of Python programming experience with demonstrated software or automation development.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
• Experience validating REST APIs and web applications.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, problem-solving, coding, software development, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently, drive technical solutions with minimal supervision, and build automation rather than only execute existing test suites.
• Ability to attend team meetings three times per week during early or late hours to support international teams and customers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, pytest, or similar automation frameworks.
• Experience with cloud-native applications and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Django, RESTful services, and modern web architectures.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
• Experience supporting enterprise SaaS products.
