Firmware Engineer (Embedded Linux)

What you will do

• Develop advanced firmware solutions for critical substation monitoring and diagnosis systems.
• Work with embedded Linux and real-time embedded systems for data acquisition, scheduling, and post-processing.
• Coordinate firmware development activities and lead quality and scheduling projects.
• Support development, pre-qualification, verification testing, and regulatory compliance.
• Support product transition to mass manufacturing and assist sales and support teams after release.
• Follow and continuously improve software development and validation processes using Scrum Agile methodology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems design, development, testing, and debugging.
• Strong experience with microcontroller- and microprocessor-based systems.
• Expertise in Embedded C/C++ development in real-time, multithreaded environments.
• Proficiency with peripheral interfaces including UART, I2C, and SPI.
• Experience developing, debugging, and testing industrial protocols including Modbus, DNP3, IEC60870, and IEC61850, as well as Ethernet systems, protocol analyzers, and SCADA practices.
• Extensive experience with embedded Linux and Windows environments, including real-time data acquisition and scheduling applications.
• Knowledge of unit-testing frameworks for Linux and experience with device-driver programming.

Nice to have

• Experience developing products for the power-utility industry.
• Familiarity with AI technologies in firmware development.
• Understanding of cybersecurity implementation principles.
• Experience with FPGA programming and development.
• Additional programming experience with C#, PHP, JavaScript, and Python scripting.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices, JIRA, Confluence, and Agile methodologies.
