AI Cloud Data Engineer

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Primary location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Shift 1 (Canada). Applicants must be eligible for any required Canada export authorizations.

Estimated salary range: $110K–$120K CAD, with performance-based incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize AI-powered applications, data pipelines, and scalable cloud-based data platforms.
• Build and deploy machine learning, deep learning, Generative AI, predictive modeling, and analytical solutions for complex business and engineering challenges.
• Create and maintain RAG systems, vector databases, AI agents, intelligent search solutions, and data-driven applications.
• Acquire, process, integrate, and analyze structured and unstructured data while maintaining data quality, integrity, and governance.
• Build AI/ML training, inference, deployment, monitoring, and optimization pipelines using MLOps and cloud-native practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, maintainable, production-ready solutions and establish technical best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience developing production software applications.
• At least 1 year of experience with machine learning, deep learning, Generative AI, and large language models (LLMs).
• Familiarity with AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of data engineering concepts, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and distributed data processing.
• Experience with MLOps, model deployment, CI/CD, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
