Senior Specialist, Procurement (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Hybrid, primary location in Rahway, New Jersey, United States; travel requirements up to 10%

Salary: $96,200–$151,400 annual base salary for the primary location, plus potential annual bonus and long-term incentive

What you will do

• Develop and execute supplier management and strategic sourcing strategies for small and large molecule direct materials, including bioconjugates and antibody-drug conjugates.
• Collect, analyze, model, and present supplier, supply market, competitive, cost, spend, savings, and performance data.
• Support early-stage sourcing, new product introduction, new material qualification, alternate-source selection, and supply readiness for pipeline and commercial products.
• Collaborate with Research & Development, Manufacturing, Legal, Finance, Procure-to-Pay, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers.
• Prepare and support negotiations, including RFIs, RFPs, e-auctions, pre-negotiation plans, post-negotiation follow-up, and supplier relationship management.
• Assess supply-base risks, including financial solvency and compliance, and develop mitigation plans to improve supply continuity, cost, working capital, and supplier performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science, Supply Chain, or Procurement.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Adaptability and the ability to work across multiple enterprise initiatives and communicate effectively across organizational levels and cultural differences.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear and concise presentations.
• Ability to influence external partners and drive meaningful outcomes.
• Advanced data collection, management, analytics, and reporting skills.
• Excellent project management skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous and dynamic situations.
• Ability and motivation to develop technical, business, and commercial skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Nice to have

• Additional pharmaceutical industry experience or experience at a Fortune 500 company.
• Cost modeling experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, or similar collaboration websites.
• Experience with Power BI or other data analytics and visualization tools.
• Experience using Excel to manage large datasets.
• Experience managing external relationships and data collection methods.
