Buyer, Indirects - MRO Data Analyst

Location: Chicago/Aon Center, United States. Hybrid schedule: virtual work is allowed for up to two days per week, with at least three in-person days per workweek at the assigned work location. Moderate travel to customer locations, stores, manufacturing facilities, and similar sites is expected.

New hire base salary: $77,800–$97,300 per year. Performance-based bonus eligibility is included.

hirify.global operates a business-critical MRO procurement category supporting manufacturing operations, maintenance services, supplier relationships, and inventory management.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain spend analytics across MRO categories, suppliers, plants, materials, and buying channels including SAP, Ariba catalog, and non-catalog purchasing.
• Clean, enrich, classify, and reconcile purchasing, invoice, catalog, contract, inventory, and material master data.
• Identify savings opportunities through price variance, supplier consolidation, demand aggregation, tail-spend, specification alignment, and sourcing opportunity analyses.
• Build item-level pricing benchmarks and analyze supplier price changes, inflation requests, freight, surcharges, and tariff claims.
• Analyze inventory consumption, stock levels, inventory turns, excess and obsolete materials, duplicate items, standardization, and material criticality with maintenance and plant stakeholders.
• Develop supplier scorecards, sourcing-event models, dashboards, automated reporting, savings documentation, and implementation tracking.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in analytics, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, finance, operations, or a related field.
• Advanced Excel capability, including data modeling, Power Query, fuzzy logic, pivot tables, scenario analysis, and structured analytical methods.
• Experience working with large, imperfect datasets and reconciling information across multiple sources.
• Ability to simplify complex data to enable decision making.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, communication, and stakeholder-partnership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting MRO, manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, industrial distribution, or indirect procurement.
• Experience with SAP, Ariba, Power BI, SQL, Python, Alteryx, or comparable analytics platforms.
• Understanding of sourcing, contracting, supplier management, inventory optimization, material master data, and procurement savings methodologies.
• Experience developing automated dashboards, repeatable data pipelines, and executive-level performance reporting.
