Scientist, R&D - Product Development, Global Disruptive Innovation (Food Product Development)

Location: Glenview, IL, Glenview R&D Center

Base salary: $77,800.00–$97,300.00 per year; eligible for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Collaborate with the R&D Technical Lead to prioritize product development tasks across one to three cross-functional Agile pods.
• Lead formulation and process development workstreams from rapid prototypes and benchtop experiments through pilot plant and factory-scale trials.
• Develop disruptive food-based solutions within Procurement, Legal, Food Safety, and Quality guardrails.
• Explore and evaluate potential suppliers and development partners.
• Support consumer insights, marketing, financial viability, and other cross-functional project workstreams.
• Contribute to technical documentation and validate consumer behavior and quantitative objectives across desirability, feasibility, and viability.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience with a B.S. degree, or at least 1 year of relevant experience with an M.S. degree.
• At least 2 years of experience with multiple aspects of the commercialization process, including POs, specifications, HACCP, and DSA.
• Desire to learn and apply Agile Ways of Working and the Agile @ Scale playbook.
• Proven ability to achieve results, experiment, and prioritize progress over perfection.
• Ability to operate with mid-to-high levels of autonomy.
• Willingness to think and work differently, take calculated risks, and maintain a growth mindset with lifelong curiosity and learning.
