Vegetation Management & Forestry, Manager

Location: Wildomar, California, US; hybrid work with required reporting to an SCE facility for a set number of days; employees are required to work and reside in California; up to 60% travel and field work throughout the SCE service territory.

Salary: $143,900–$215,800 per year.

What you will do

• Lead a team of approximately 8 Specialists and Senior Specialists overseeing contractor activities and vegetation compliance across SCE’s service territory.
• Provide program leadership, governance, quality assurance, and operational oversight for the vegetation management program.
• Manage contractor performance through scorecards, corrective action plans, safety and environmental incident reviews, and authorized representative responsibilities.
• Plan and schedule program work with vegetation service providers while managing budgets, forecasts, quality, and vendor performance.
• Develop vegetation maintenance processes, train operations personnel, and lead the development and implementation of new technologies.
• Represent the vegetation management program to internal partners, the public, homeowners, and local, state, and federal agencies; direct emergency storm response as needed on a 24/7 basis.

Requirements

• Five or more years of combined experience performing vegetation or forestry management, or supervising an organization, unit, or group.
• Experience providing safety, environmental compliance, and quality oversight to a contract workforce.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry, arboriculture, business, or a related field.
• International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist certification.
• Experience with CPUC General Order 95, Rule 35, Public Resource Code 4292 and 4293, and environmental habitat regulations.
