Field Application Engineer (Power Electronics)

Location: Remote, Italy; travel approximately 50–60% across EMEA.

Gross annual base salary: €60,000–€75,000 plus bonus.

What you will do

• Support customers throughout application development and product design-in from concept through validation and production.
• Analyze customer requirements, understand system architectures, and recommend system-level solutions across multiple product families.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support laboratory testing, validation, and investigation of application-related problems.
• Partner with Sales to identify technical opportunities and support design wins in strategic customer projects.
• Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and product training for customers and distribution partners.
• Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Quality, and engineering teams to communicate customer needs and contribute to product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 5–7 years of relevant engineering experience in Field Application Engineering, Application Engineering, Design Engineering, or a similar technical role.
• Ability to understand system architecture, technical specifications, and customer application requirements.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and support a broad range of technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to technical troubleshooting and validation.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to engineering and commercial audiences.
• Customer-oriented mindset and willingness to work closely with customers and Sales teams; design engineers must be comfortable in a customer-facing role.
• Fluent English.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50–60% across EMEA.

Nice to have

• Experience with power semiconductors.
• Equivalent experience in power electronics, industrial automation, protection, sensing, or related application areas.
• German and Italian language skills.
