IT Network Engineer (Industrial Networking)

Location: On-site, 80% required, based in Mobile, Alabama; Grand Prairie, Texas; or Wichita, Kansas. Requires 10% domestic and international travel and authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Manage L3 incidents, problems, service requests, operations, suppliers, and long-term infrastructure planning.
• Support and improve LAN, WAN, industrial, wireless, network security, and cabling infrastructure for hirify.global sites in North America.
• Act as the technical focal point for regional LAN, network security, and Aruba wireless environments, including hirify.global Helicopter North America networks.
• Provide technical consulting to internal customers, systems analysts, IT engineers, architects, and technical teams in Europe.
• Develop and execute infrastructure and systems test plans, report findings, and recommend performance improvements.
• Design and oversee end-to-end integrated IT systems, capacity plans, technology standards, and infrastructure investment plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of relevant networking experience in an industrial environment.
• Expert networking knowledge demonstrated by Cisco CCNP or an equivalent networking certification.
• Expertise in LAN, WAN, WiFi, and network security products, including proxies, firewalls, IDS, and IPS.
• Fluency in English and authorization to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, organizational, time-management, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, exercise independent judgment, prioritize and execute tasks under pressure, and maintain attention to detail.
• Strong customer service orientation and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to travel independently and at short notice and meet the listed physical requirements, including working on production floors and using required PPE.

Nice to have

• CCIE or an equivalent networking certification.
• Experience with BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN, VLAN, STP, edge network security, Dot1x/NAC, F5 Loadbalancer and iRules, and proxy technologies.
• Experience with physical network deployment, optical and copper cabling, structured cabling, power, and electricity standards.
• Scripting experience and certifications from vendors such as Arista, Aruba, Palo Alto, or F5.
• ITIL Foundation or Agile Framework certification.
• French or German language skills.
