Device Engineer (Networking Infrastructure)

Location: Fully on-site in Milpitas, California, with travel to Arrow client office locations as requested; listed client locations include Milpitas, Campbell, San Jose, and Santa Clara, California.

What you will do

• Operate and engineer network labs, infrastructure, systems, and testbeds.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, servers, optical modules, and fiber connectivity.
• Deploy and manage Linux servers and network services, including DHCP, PXE, DNS, and HTTP.
• Develop Python scripts and infrastructure automation for network environments.
• Support SONiC, network operating systems, hyperscale networking, and high-density multi-rack deployments.
• Travel to Arrow client office locations as requested by client leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in network lab operations, infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or testbed engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco routing and switching, data center infrastructure, Linux administration with Red Hat, CentOS, or Ubuntu, TCP/IP networking, DHCP, PXE, DNS, HTTP services, and server deployment and management.
• Experience with SONiC, network operating systems, or hyperscale networking environments.
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and servers.
• Experience working with optical modules and fiber connectivity.
• Proficiency in Python scripting and infrastructure automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting AI/ML infrastructure or GPU-based test environments.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus, Cisco 8000 platforms, UCS Servers, or Hyperfabric solutions.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Knowledge of VMware and AWS cloud platforms.
• Understanding of network performance testing and benchmarking.
• Experience supporting multiple-rack and high-density infrastructure deployments.
