Staff Product Designer (AI)

Location: Redwood City, CA, United States (hybrid); onsite at least 60% of the working month, approximately 3 days per week.

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 base pay per year, plus potential discretionary annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Own developer experience end to end through research, usage data, partner contact, and roadmap development.
• Design developer integration views showing usage, quality, errors, and impact.
• Lead systematic design across the platform, dataset catalog, documentation, and marketing surfaces.
• Extend dataset discovery and access experiences, including permission and organization models.
• Set the visual and interaction quality bar, partner with the design systems lead, mentor designers, and review their work.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional experience.
• Strength in visual and interaction design combined with product thinking, including the ability to bring brand expression into the product.
• Ability to ensure recommendations are adopted in design systems and to partner with a systems designer on implementation.
• Experience owning an entire product or platform in production and setting its direction.
• Ability to frame ambiguous problems, make explicit value and risk trade-offs, and align stakeholders.
• Strong systems instincts and technical depth, including interest in permissions, organization models, and multi-surface navigation.
• Ability to read API references, collaborate effectively with engineers, and design within technical constraints.
• Comfort using AI-native methods, prototyping in code, and validating ideas early instead of following a linear design cycle.
