Financial Analyst, Trucking Operations (Oil & Gas)

hirify.global is hiring for AltaGas's Midstream Finance team supporting trucking operations in the oil and gas sector.

What you will do

• Prepare and enter accounting entries, analyze operational earnings, and deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.
• Prepare monthly variance reports and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and review invoices and manage accounts receivable.
• Maintain and validate master data in operational systems.
• Partner with operations managers to identify improvements and support cost tracking.
• Improve reporting tools and workflows through data organization, analysis, and process enhancements.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience; oil and gas experience is preferred.
• Advanced Excel and Power Query skills.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, business-partner mindset.
• Interest in learning the trucking business and understanding operations.
• Continuous improvement mindset, including identifying challenges, addressing root causes, and driving process enhancements.

Nice to have

• CPA designation or progress toward one.
• Experience with JD Edwards and Power BI.
