Director of Product Design (AI)

Location: Remote; open to US-based applicants only

Salary: $226K–$242K annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead and develop a small team of experienced product designers as a player/coach.
• Set design principles, standards, guardrails, and decision records that scale across Product, Engineering, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Own the hirify.global Design System, including priorities, resourcing, adoption, and alignment between Figma and code.
• Define and evolve the product approach to trustworthy AI experiences, including customer control, communication, and error handling.
• Shape product direction with Product and Engineering, allocate design capacity, and partner with Brand Design on cohesion between marketing and in-app experiences.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product design experience, including 3+ years managing designers.
• Experience owning product experience and leading the people responsible for creating it.
• Strong product and design judgment, with experience simplifying complex B2B software.
• Experience building or significantly evolving an adopted design system.
• Experience leading principal- or staff-level designers and collaborating cross-functionally with Product and Engineering.
• Must be based in the United States and already authorized to work there; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI throughout the design practice and shaping trustworthy AI product experiences.
• Technical fluency, customer research experience, and strong data-informed decision-making.
