Senior Business Data Analyst (Power BI)

Location: Gent, Belgium; hybrid work with an average of 3 days per week in the Ghent office and occasional travel to the Paris office.

What you will do

• Work with sales, operations, marketing, finance, and country management teams to turn business questions into actionable insights.
• Select the appropriate solution for each need, including Excel analyses, Power BI reports, or features in internal back-office tools with Engineering.
• Design and maintain Power BI reporting for management and account managers.
• Own KPI definitions and figures to establish one trusted version of the truth across Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.
• Prioritize requests, challenge low-value work, document reporting, and improve existing data usage.
• Use AI tools to accelerate analysis, automate repetitive reporting, and translate business requirements into clear data-platform requirements with Data Engineering.

Requirements

• Business-oriented mindset with the ability to understand how the business works and interpret what the numbers mean.
• At least 5 years of experience building reporting for business teams, for example as a business analyst, BI analyst, or controller in a commercial or operational environment.
• Strong Power BI and Excel skills, with confidence using SQL.
• Strong communication skills for explaining trends to sales managers and data questions to engineers, setting expectations, and building trust.
• Confidence and pragmatism when challenging senior stakeholders, making choices, and saying no with clear reasoning.
• Structured approach, including documenting work and improving clarity.
• Fluent English and an interest in working across countries and cultures.
• Master's degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Dutch and/or French.
• Automation tools such as Power Automate or n8n.
• Modern data stack experience with Databricks and dbt.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot, plus curiosity about applying them to analysis and reporting.
