Software Engineering Intern (AI)

Location: Dallas, TX — Hybrid

What you will do

• Help design and implement modular, domain-aligned applications for vehicle title transfer and ownership processes.
• Build and maintain full-stack features using Java, Spring Boot, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and related tools.
• Design RESTful APIs and integration patterns, responsive interfaces, robust backend services, and automated tests.
• Prototype AI agents and identify automation opportunities for title transfer and operational workflows using Python, Google's Agent Development Kit, and GCP.
• Use AI coding agents while reviewing, testing, and taking ownership of generated code.
• Collaborate with product managers, domain experts, UX/UI designers, QA engineers, DevOps, and business stakeholders through planning, reviews, and agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, completed or in progress; Master's preferred.
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI applications through personal, academic, or professional projects, such as agents that plan, call tools or APIs, or run multi-step workflows.
• Regular use of AI coding agents with the judgment to review, test, and own their output.
• Strong programming fundamentals in at least one backend language such as Java, Python, Go, C#, or similar.
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, or similar.
• Understanding of SOLID, DRY, KISS, common design patterns, RESTful API design, relational databases, and data modeling.
• Experience with Git and exposure to CI/CD practices.
• Passion for learning, strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, the Spring ecosystem, and React applications.
• Experience building agents in Python and exposure to Google's Agent Development Kit, GCP, or another major cloud platform.
• Familiarity with tool calling, retrieval, multi-agent orchestration, and evaluating agent behavior.
• Interest in modular monolith architecture, Modulith, Domain-Driven Design, and monolith-versus-microservices decisions.
• Experience with Docker, containerization, TDD, JUnit, Mockito, React Testing Library, Maven/Gradle, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in automotive, logistics, or document processing; side projects, open-source contributions, hackathons, or technology communities.
• Experience across multiple programming paradigms and exposure to on-premise data centers.
