Senior Analyst, Mergers & Acquisitions (Fintech)

What you will do

• Execute end-to-end M&A processes covering acquisitions and divestitures, including strategic rationale, project management, due diligence, valuation, documentation, negotiations, and third-party advisor management.
• Evaluate the strategic merits of M&A opportunities with business partners, including revenue and cost synergies, risks, and build/buy/partner alternatives.
• Build and own transaction financial models, including DCF, LBO/returns, accretion/dilution, carve-out, and stranded-cost analyses, working with Finance, Tax, and Accounting.
• Support M&A strategy through target screening, pipeline management, competitive intelligence, primary research, and portfolio reviews across Banking Solutions and Capital Markets.
• Prepare corporate strategy and M&A materials for the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
• Use AI tools, including large language models and agentic workflows, for market mapping, target screening, data-room and contract review, and initial analysis and materials while verifying outputs and protecting confidential information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or information technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, transaction advisory, or strategy consulting.
• Demonstrable experience executing live transactions through to close, ideally including both buy-side and sell-side or carve-out transactions.
• Experience in strategy, corporate finance, portfolio management, competitive intelligence, and primary research.
• Ability to assess targets’ data, AI, and technology capabilities and risks, including data rights, model governance, IP ownership, cybersecurity, and applicable regulation.
• Ability to help maintain M&A playbooks, templates, pipeline data, precedent transactions, and post-deal reviews.

Nice to have

• MBA, CFA, ACA/CPA, or an equivalent professional qualification, completed or in progress.
• Experience in FinTech, payments, banking, or capital markets technology.
• Experience in the FinTech industry, including both acquisitions and divestitures.
