Company

hirify.global provides digital solutions, commercial-grade platforms, and mission-ready AI for federal agencies across defense, space, healthcare, and energy.

What you will do

  • Conduct user interviews, workflow observations, and discovery sessions; translate findings into user needs, journey maps, and design requirements.
  • Develop information architecture, navigation structures, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity interfaces, and interactive prototypes for web applications and integrated platforms.
  • Design dashboards, data tables, search experiences, forms, approval workflows, and complete interaction states for complex operational tasks.
  • Create and maintain shared design systems covering typography, layout, color, components, interaction patterns, and usage guidance.
  • Plan usability testing, evaluate task completion and errors, document findings, and prioritize improvements.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, platform engineers, cybersecurity personnel, customers, and leadership; provide annotated designs, specifications, assets, acceptance criteria, and implementation reviews.

Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain it throughout employment.
  • At least five years of professional experience in UI/UX, product, interaction, or closely related design, including software application design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction, user experience, visual design, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • A portfolio demonstrating user research, interaction design, visual design, and contribution to delivered software products; sanitized case studies or authorized walkthroughs are acceptable for restricted work.
  • Proficiency with Figma or comparable interface-design and prototyping tools, including reusable components, responsive layouts, and interactive prototypes.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing and translating findings into design decisions and measurable improvements.
  • Ability to design complex workflows, information-dense interfaces, consistent navigation, and reusable design systems.
  • Experience collaborating with software developers, documenting interaction behavior, and reviewing implemented interfaces; familiarity with accessibility and responsive design practices.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, organization, and independent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across a distributed team and support periodic travel.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing software for military, federal, national security, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience with unified interfaces across multiple applications, role-based workspaces, data and analytics platforms, or AI-enabled tools.
  • Experience with operational dashboards, geospatial interfaces, robotics or autonomous-system applications, or workflows under time and connectivity constraints.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and component-based front-end frameworks for collaboration with developers; production software development is not required.
  • Experience supporting Agile delivery and maintaining design work in product backlogs using GitLab, Jira, or comparable tools.
  • Experience designing for federal accessibility requirements and working with accessibility specialists to validate delivered interfaces.

Culture & Benefits

  • Remote work arrangement with periodic travel for user research, design workshops, demonstrations, and customer engagements.
