Associate Director / Senior Managing Consultant Pod Lead - Financial Services Operations & Technology (AI)

Location: New York, NY. Preferred locations include Chicago, Washington, D.C., Dallas, and Boston; strong candidates in other locations may be considered case by case. Travel to client sites is required as needed. Candidates must be able to verify their legal right to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Associate Director: $180,000–$250,000 salary range; Senior Managing Consultant: $150,000–$175,000 salary range.

What you will do

• Own client pursuits, proposals, scope, pricing, delivery plans, client outcomes, delivery quality, team performance, and engagement economics.
• Lead discovery and solution shaping with client stakeholders, analysts, and technical leads, translating operational priorities into technology and AI-enabled improvements.
• Assemble and mobilize multidisciplinary pods, define roles and decision rights, delegate workstream ownership, and coach colleagues.
• Own backlog priorities and lead planning, demonstrations, feedback-driven iteration, and delivery across discovery, requirements, build, testing, and release.
• Manage scope, milestones, staffing, budgets, risks, dependencies, quality assurance, operational controls, and risk and compliance input.
• Lead client governance, business readiness, adoption, training, handover, practice growth, recruiting, reusable assets, proposals, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Experience owning consulting engagements and supporting business development, including scoping work, leading delivery teams, managing client expectations, and managing engagement economics.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary business and technology teams through implementation with clear workstream ownership, delivery discipline, and accountability for outcomes.
• Relevant financial services experience in consumer lending, commercial lending, or payments. Experience in mortgage, credit card, personal loan, or auto lending, including servicing, collections, and default, is valuable.
• Experience leading complex transformation programs in regulated financial institutions, including regulatory change, compliance, operational improvement, or regulatory remediation.
• Ability to work across business, operations, technology, legal, compliance, and risk; resolve trade-offs, manage dependencies, and escalate issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including influencing senior stakeholders, facilitating decisions, and coaching and developing team members.
• Curiosity about AI-enabled delivery, willingness to learn and use approved tools responsibly, and ability to travel to client sites as needed.

Nice to have

• Deep experience in retail banking, consumer lending, or credit cards, including servicing, collections, or default operations.
• Experience leading agile, product-oriented, or pod-based delivery with prioritized backlogs, iterative releases, and technology-enabled workflows.
• Technical fluency in applications, data flows, APIs, integrations, and AI-enabled solutions sufficient to evaluate delivery options with technical specialists.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT, or leading implementation of AI-enabled workflows, automation, or digital solutions.
• Adjacent banking or wealth and asset management experience.
