GIS Analyst/Developer (GIS)

Location: Remote within the United States; all work must be performed in the U.S. and candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the U.S. Quarterly travel to an office may be required. Core work hours are 10am–4pm Eastern Time, with flexibility to start earlier or work later based on time zone.

Salary: $67,355–$114,503 annually.

What you will do

• Perform complex GIS analyses and develop client-focused outputs, maps, and dashboards integrating infrastructure and community resilience data.
• Evaluate and integrate spatial data from infrastructure, transportation, and hazard sources, including geodatabases, web services, raster, and image files.
• Build ETL processes and lead procedures for data collection, management, processing, and dissemination.
• Design, deploy, and maintain web-based geospatial applications using custom and commercial mapping tools.
• Apply cross-domain planning and land-use knowledge to transportation, disaster recovery, climate resilience, and energy projects.
• Work with clients and subject-matter experts to translate business needs into data analysis requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Geography, Urban Planning, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience performing complex GIS analysis.
• At least 2 years of experience using Esri desktop and web GIS tools.
• Experience with at least one scripting language, preferably Python.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
• Must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and perform all work in the U.S.
• Must have lived in the U.S. for three full years out of the last five years.
• Ability to communicate and write clearly in English, with strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of GIS and remote-sensing data analysis, visualization, and related analytical methodologies and software.
• Experience automating data pipelines with Python or R and cloud-native AWS or Azure tools.
• Interest in applying Python to web application development and backend scripting.
• Experience with COTS data pipeline tools such as FME or Model Builder.
• Familiarity with React and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
• Critical thinking, initiative, self-organization, research ability, and prioritization across multiple projects under tight deadlines.
